IDC Prep Academy is an online preparation program designed to help Divemasters and future PADI Instructors prepare for their Instructor Development Course (IDC). Our courses help candidates strengthen dive theory knowledge, build confidence, and arrive better prepared for instructor-level training.
IDC Prep Academy is created and taught by experienced PADI Course Directors. However, IDC Prep Academy is an independent educational resource and is not owned or operated by PADI.

No.
IDC Prep Academy is designed to prepare you for your IDC, not replace it. You must still complete an IDC through a PADI Course Director and authorized IDC Center.
We recommend beginning your preparation at least 4-8 weeks before your IDC. This allows enough time to review dive theory, identify weak areas, and build confidence before training begins.

Many of our resources can benefit divers working toward professional-level training. However, most content is specifically designed for Divemasters preparing for the IDC.
